Chuck Garelick – Vice President of Special Events
Mr. Garelick currently serves as Elite Investigation’s Vice President of Special Events. In this capacity Mr. Garelick is responsible for all facets of event security operations to include the planning, staffing, directing and implementation of procedures for Elite’s Special Events Division. From large high profile events to include fashions shows, movie premieres and large scale marketing campaigns to smaller functions including book signings and autograph sessions, with a list of clients varying in size from publicists to Fortune 500 companies, Mr. Garelick is recognized as an industry leader in this area.
Mr. Garelick brings with him a fresh and unique approach towards the execution of a comprehensive special events security plan; one that places emphasis on site assessment and coordination with local police and government agencies, careful recruitment and background verification of security staff members and event access control measures and crowd and parking control.
Mr. Garelick is a career security industry professional who began his career in 1975 as a retail and special events security officer. Throughout his vast professional career Mr. Garelick has served in many capacities that include managing innumerable special events for various high level clients, directing loss prevention operations for a national retail video store chain and as security director for Studio 54 and the Palladium. In 1994 Mr. Garelick became the managing director of one of the regions largest special event security agencies, a post that he held until 2008, when he stepped down to become Vice President of Special Events for Elite Investigations.
Mr. Garelick has been recognized as an authority in the area of special events and nightlife/entertainment industry security. Throughout his career Mr. Garelick has administered the security requirements and operations of some of the most publicized events that include; Vanity Fair Pre-Oscar Awards Party, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows, Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible III New York World Premiere, The Tribeca Film Festival and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation “Kids 4 Kids,”
Mr. Garelick attended John Jay College a Criminal Justice major, has also received his credentials in Fire Science and Security Management while in attendance thereat. Mr. Garelick is a New York City Certified Fire Safety Director as well as a New York State Certified Security Training Instructor. Mr. Garelick is also a member of numerous industry associations including, American Society for Industrial Security, World Association of Detectives, Association of Licensed Detectives of New York State, and the NYPD SHIELD.
